Discovering The Ideal Trading Strategy

When considering making money via Forex or futures speculation, it is important to have enough information to make decisions that result in a shift in markets in your direction. In the early 1970s, markets began forming internationally that transitioned from a government mandated and internationally controlled and restricted system of currency evaluation to the modern day floating exchange rates. This is what makes Forex possible, and why individuals or organizations can purchase foreign currencies, predicting that they will increase in value. A similar system was implemented to allow futures trading, as today, traders of futures attempting a particular trading strategy are required to post a performance bond based on the risk and value of the contract for the commodity owned. These markets are subject to a number of complex intricacies that are not easy to grasp on your own; it is important for any prospective trader to seek accredited training in their chosen field. Such training is not limited to a traditional classroom, with courses that have been long proven effective offered over the web or via phone, or even using a free trading webinar.

Clearing margins are especially important for the spread of covered commodities traded in futures. Trades regularly executed on futures balance positions are not guaranteed to fulfil all the contractual bond margin performance obligations, because initial margin is not a guarantee of future exposure position. When you know this, the next step becomes clearer; by using the amount required by the established futures exchange security, an individual can utilize the five steps conveyed by most private Forex training courses to realize a high annualized return on their calculated margin.

Forex trading turnover is determined by market size and the liquid financial markets of the world. Therefore, any derivative products convertible to capital accounts are subject to the emergence of execution venues in the traditional foreign exchange market. Negotiations between nations traditionally determine the exchange rate, which is not set in stone; the trading centre with the most transactions and the most authority over the global exchange rate is the London exchange, and a price quoted from London is representative of the price used the world over. The IMF calculates that levels of access to the Forex market by commercial banks can be guaranteed by a bid and ask referral spread.

This information can in some cases be enough to eke out a profit, but in most cases a more advanced understanding of the monetary exchange trends in effect on any given day is required for the more aggressive, lucrative trades. By using private Forex training, it is possible for an individual to learn the tricks required for equity utilization in both forex and futures trading in a very short amount of time.

Graphics Memory Faces Slower Growth Compared to Overall Dram Market

According to the market research firm iSuppli Corp., the accelerated trend in the PC market toward integrating graphics capabilities into the Central Processing Unit (CPU) will have a negative impact on graphics-oriented memory, causing its share of the overall DRAM market to decline during the next few years. A specialty segment of the larger DRAM market, the graphics memory industry is projected to grow only slightly at the beginning of next year, despite its relative insulation from the more disruptive fluctuations of the commodity memory market. Graphics in the first quarter of 2011 will make up 5 percent of the overall market for memory. While it’s expected to maintain its course through most of the year, the market will then begin a slight but steady decline starting in the final quarter of 2011. By 2014, the graphics memory segment will account for roughly 4.4 percent.

“While graphics memory commands a price premium and is more stable in demand compared to commodity DRAM, the market is not projected to grow dramatically in the future,” said Mike Howard, Principal Analyst (DRAM & Memory) at iSuppli. “In the coming years, demand for graphic memory will ease as manufacturing trends favor the integration of the graphic processing unit (GPU)-the microprocessor responsible for rendering 2-D or 3-D images-into a computer’s CPU.” The stunning high-end graphics provided by dedicated video cards will still be needed for immersive gaming and similar activities that require advanced memory and exceptional performance. However, an integrated approach-in which graphic functionality is embedded into a motherboard and utilizes the system memory of a computer-will provide more than adequate performance for the majority of PC users. As a result, the graphics memory market will be impacted, iSuppli warns.

Graphics memory challenges The flattening of the graphics memory segment represents a major change, considering the attractive margins enjoyed by the segment and the intense efforts among fierce rivals and major players alike to make their presence felt in the market. Idaho-based Micron Inc., for instance, has been developing a graphics memory product for some time, hiring key executives from now-bankrupt Qimonda AG of Germany, whose commanding share of market once rivaled that of leader Samsung Electronics. Qimonda’s bankruptcy, in turn, has benefited Korean player Hynix Semiconductor, which rushed in to fill the gap and is now Samsung’s main contender for hefty spoils. Another player, Elpida Memory Inc. from Japan, is beginning the production of memory technology specific to graphic cards known as GDDR3 and GDDR5. Elpida’s present share of market may be small, but the company’s entrance into the segment is likely to shake up things.

As additional competitors enter the market, Samsung and Hynix may well be forced to surrender market share to Elpida and other new upstarts. All told, the graphics market is expected to remain a build-to-order segment, with prices based more on manufacturing costs than overall supply-demand dynamics. And while graphics memory will continue to be demanded by game-console makers and high-end graphics cards, the advent of better-integrated products could likely threaten the GPU market. In particular, industry players are watching Intel Corp., which next year is releasing the Sandy Bridge platform for integrated graphics, intended to match the performance of low-end discrete graphic cards. Such a move, iSuppli maintains, could further alter the general terrain of the graphic market.

China Gray-Market Cell Phone Shipments Slow in 2011

Stymied by a government crackdown, China’s gray-market cell phone shipments are expected to expand in 2011 at a considerably slower pace compared to this year, according to the market research firm iSuppli, now part of IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS). China’s gray-market cell phone shipments will amount to 255 million units in 2011, up 11.8 percent from 228 million in 2010. This compares to a rise of 43.6 percent in 2009. Gray-market handsets are cell phones manufactured in China that are not recognized or licensed by government regulators. Makers of these products generally do not pay China’s value-added taxes and, therefore, profit illegally from their participation in the market. “The object of a nationwide government crackdown, the gray cell phone market in the world’s most populous country is facing some trepidation as official scrutiny focused on illegal handsets and as consumers are starting to lose some interest in the devices,” said Kevin Wang, Director (China Research) at iSuppli. “This created particular challenges for white-box handsets-on which gray-market dealers can put their logos.

These types of phones use smuggled chips, carry no certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, sport fake international mobile equipment identity codes and are smuggled to Hong Kong to avoid value-added taxes.” What growth there is in 2011 will be driven by demand from emerging countries as well as by falling average selling prices for gray handsets. After growing in 2011, the gray market will begin to decline in 2012. This is because gray market cell phone suppliers will be unable to cut prices any further-even if they wish to win more new customers in emerging countries. Suppliers also will find themselves competing with an increasing number of locally branded original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that provide better quality and after-sales service, iSuppli believes.

The market for gray handsets Aside from serving domestic demand in China, gray handsets command sizable sales in other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, an area that includes Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines-as well as Pakistan, a neighbor to China. And while gray-handset shipments in 2010 within China will fall to 24.2 million units, down from 33.2 million in 2009, gray-handset shipments to other Asian countries during the same period will rise to 154.4 million units, up from 110.2 million. The market for non-gray handsets Meanwhile, shipments from Chinese non-gray handset makers will grow by 36.4 percent in 2010 and continue to climb during the next five years. Not only will Chinese OEMs improve their global market sales-especially in the emerging countries-China’s white-box handset shipments also will keep growing. Furthermore, Chinese handset makers will win more orders from international carriers and from locally branded OEMs in the emerging markets. Within the domestic market, China’s 3G handsets are poised for dramatic expansion-reaching 51 million units in 2010 and maintaining growth in the next five years, thanks to the continued decline of both 3G handset prices and service fees. By 2014, local 3G handsets are projected to reach 134 million units.
